Welcome to Church at the Well. This will be a place where you can come and get the Bread of Life and some Living Water. All you can eat and drink will be here for you.
The Church at the Well is dedicated to giving God the glory in all we do. We will cover things here that may not be covered where you choose to worship. That’s okay, we are here to teach and strengthen you. If you are a believer…you are welcome here. If you are an unbeliever…you are welcome here. Everyone needs bread and water.
I need to set some initial guidelines:
- I am not perfect so there will be some errors here, I have asked God to forgive me, you need to do the same
- I paint with a “Big Broad Brush” and if you are easily offended I will probably offend you…I am sorry
- Church is not a building, it is a gathering place of believers. If you are here and have accepted Jesus you are part of the church
- God is Good and Satan is a liar, thief, murderer, punk…(you get the picture)
- I will use the Bible as my primary source of material (usually quoting from the New King James Version)
- I will use illustrations and video to help me teach
This is not the whole list but I wanted to let you know I’m a real person, not perfect but I serve an extraordinary, perfect God.
Church at the Well is not a non-profit organization, I’m not sure we ever will be…mainly because we don’t want to be limited in what we can talk about and teach. What does that mean to you? Nothing really, unless you want to make a donation. By us not becoming a 501-c3 organization you will not get the tax benefits for your donation but if that is the reason you are donating we probably need to talk. (I told you I’m not going to be like everyone else, didn’t I?) There are plenty of places you can donate and get the tax benefits…that is not why we are here.
So what should you expect to learn? Great question, We will have teachings that feed your spirit. You will learn the “Jesus model” what Jesus did (we are talking pattern) while He was here on Earth and why most churches only deal with one or two of these. You will learn that you are made in God’s Image and what that means. What really happens when you accept Jesus as your personal Savior and what that looks like?
I see things in pictures, so I have to picture it in my mind before I can teach on it. God has really opened my eyes to these things and many more.
It is some times difficult to take a spiritual concept and make it understandable. My job as a teacher is to make you think and help you get closer to God. I did not write the Bible but God has given me a gift of teaching so I’m going to take that gift and give it back to you.
One last thing, I was really good at math going through school but English…not so good. So please have a little compassion if you are a frustrated English teacher, let me know of the errors that are “driving you crazy” but please let the little things (what ever they may be) slide.
